To give main thrust to area development activities, the organization involves in the formation of industrial complexes by providing basic and comprehensive infrastructure facilities for the industries to set up their units. SIPCOT has so far developed 24 Industrial Complexes in 15 districts and 6 Sector Specific Special Economic Zones (SEZs) across Tamil Nadu. SIPCOT also acts as a Nodal Agency of Government of Tamil Nadu in the sanction / disbursement of Structured Package of Assistance to large industrial units.

SIPCOT has selected the TamilNadu Innovation and Business Incubator (CIBI)’s Forge accelerator as its partner incubator, and expects the centres to be operational by end of January 2020. Selected from a tendering process in August, Forge will be responsible to establish, operate and manage the proposed IICs. “Innovation is at the core of the state’s development efforts today, and we felt such an open innovation system will benefit SIPCOT’s overall industrial parks ecosystem,” J Kumaragurubaran, IAS, MD, SIPCOT, told TOI.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu’s State Industries Promotion Corporation (SIPCOT) is establishing SIPCOT Industrial Innovation Centres (SIIC) in two of SIPCOT’s Industrial parks — one at Sriperumbudur and the other at Hosur.
